Connecticut Architecture: Stories of 100 Places Book Launch Celebration
Join us to celebrate the release of Connecticut Architecture: Stories of 100 Places, a new book by Christopher Wigren of the Connecticut Trust for Historic Preservation (CTHP). The book, with more than 200 illustrations, introduces readers to places across the state, emphasizing the importance of the built environment to our sense of place. The goal of CTHP is to “protect, and promote the historic buildings, sites, structures, and landscapes that contribute to the heritage, economy, and vitality of Connecticut communities.” Christopher Wigren is an architectural historian and deputy director of the CTHP. His articles and essays have appeared in the Hartford Courant, New Haven Register, and Connecticut Explored magazine.
The event will be held in Middletown’s Samuel Russell House, built in 1828 and featured on page seventy-six of the book. There will be a short slide show presentation, followed by a reception and signing.
