Description

Please join us on Saturday, May 13th for a Private Access Tour of the Leroy Anderson House in Woodbury, CT.

Anderson (1908-1975) was famous for being a composer of short, light concert music pieces including Sleigh RideBlue Tango, and The Syncopated Clock (click for music!).

The modernist home was built in 1953 and was the place where Anderson wrote many of his well-loved compositions as well as raise his family with his wife, Eleanor. It is now owned by the Leroy Anderson Foundation and was put on the National Register of Historic Places in 2012. The Foundation works to help people learn about this great American composer and to support music and music education.

We will have guided tours running every half hour. While you wait for the next available tour, please enjoy a video about Leroy Anderson in his living room and listen to the sounds of his music by pianist, Cynthia Bos of West Hartford. We will also have refreshments available in the lovely yard and terrace. Feel free to come any time between 11:00AM and 2:00PM (last tour will be around 1:30).

Please R.S.V.P by May 6th. Admission is free for CT Trust Members. The address is 33 Grassy Hill Road. Parking is available in the driveway.
